David the Piano Player

The trailer for David the Piano Player screened at the New York Academy of Medicine's conference on housing, health and serial displacement yesterday. It was very well received. David's story teaches volumes about dignity and how to heal from trauma. Many thanks to the talented editor and co-producer Sabrina Gordon, of Vespertine Media and Film Productions, DP/post-production supervisor Amir Ebrahimi of Metric Nine Productions, and Tiona McClodden (second camera) for signing on to make this project possible.

Please stay tuned for updates on this project which will be complete by Summer of 2009. I can't wait to share it with all of you.

I can't wait to see it either. Keep working hard and at the same time keep getting rewarded first by your own conscience and second by the people you who are watching you do great stuff. You are wonderful.

Dr Mehret, I couldn’t agree more with you about the responsibility of all the stakeholders to standup for social justice, fairness, and equitability in preventing social vulnerabilities and HIV transmission of any form. Enslavement is all in the mind and don’t let it happen at all, at any place and time. Blaming others won’t bear fruit, instead let get involved as Arthur Ashe well said it. Your lectures, presentations and Q&As are always entertaining and educational insightfully. Thank you, Dr Mehret, for serving humanity with unequal and unmatched dedication, perseverance, leadership, creativity, wisdom, and vision. We learn a great deal from you every day and please continue to teach us. We will learn and immolate you. Thank you! I wish you a very blessed Easter. May God the Almighty bless and keep you safe and healthy and strong and faithful forever. Amen.
